The Howard Arms is a place you fall in love with before you even go inside. Sitting comfortably beside the village green for more than 400 years, it still looks over unspoiled pastureland and the idyllic village of Ilmington.
The bar remains a central meeting place for the village. A large choice of local ales and other drinks are served by friendly staff. Settle yourself in comfy leather seats by a huge log fire and in summer drink and eat in a beautiful garden with a small stream.
Award-winning head chef Gareth creates exciting surprises alongside classic favourites such as fish & chips and liver and bacon. Puddings are irresistible. You can choose from the full menu and eat at cosy tables round the bar or in the elegant, dining room.
Newly refurbished bedrooms in the main house have a charming old-world feel, some with four-poster beds, antique furniture and specially chosen paintings. Garden rooms are extra large and more contemporary. All are different but each exudes comfort and luxury with excellent en-suite bathrooms.
If you enjoy sightseeing, there are plenty of beautiful Cotswolds villages and towns to choose from, the famous gardens of Hidcote and Kiftsgate, Batsford’s Falconry Centre, Warwick Castle, and miles of countryside to walk in, cycle through and explore.
Plan an evening at Stratford’s Royal Shakespeare Company. And if you don’t fancy any of that you can just eat, drink and relax at the Howard Arms.
