Even on a wet day, we’ve plenty of things for children to do

The unpredictable British weather can make planning days out a bit tricky – especially with kids. It’s therefore worth having a few rainy day ideas up your sleeve, just in case!

Shakespeare’s England has a wealth of things to do with kids on a rainy day, from museums and castles to theatres and historic houses. So there really is no reason for the weather to stop you from having fun.

Indoor attractions suitable for kids include: the eccentric world of moving art at the MAD Museum; the Butterfly Farm with its amazing collection of butterflies and insects; Tudor World where you can discover more about medieval life; and the British Motor Museum – home to the world's largest collection of historic British cars. Or you can visit Warwick Castle and stay dry by exploring the dungeon, towers or the waxwork exhibitions.

Of course, other ideas for things to do with kids on a rainy day in Stratford-upon-Avon include soaking up all things Shakespeare. Take a theatre tour to learn more about the history of the Royal Shakespeare Company, climb the tower and enjoy the far-reaching views, or visit one of the five historic houses associated with the Bard.

These are just a few rainy day ideas for kids; you’ll find lots more things to do on our website.
