Shakespeare’s birthday is celebrated around the world every April, and his home town of Stratford-upon-Avon has been celebrating it for nearly 200 years.
The birthday celebrations always take place on the nearest weekend to the Bard's birthday - 23rd April - which in 2017 will be on place on Saturday 22nd April.
The streets of Stratford-upon-Avon are overtaken with music, pageantry and a special parade as the birthday weekend brings together performers, artists, and ambassadors from around the world in a celebration of the life of William Shakespeare.
The fantastic programme of events is organised by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Stratford Town Council and Stratford District Council.
You can find full details about what will be happening during the birthday weekend by visiting the Birthday Celebrations website.
