Hill Close Gardens, overlooking Warwick racecourse, will be celebrating its Victorian origins is the perfect setting for Easter celebrations. Heritage daffodils, as well as primroses, cowslips and other spring flowers are dotted around the sixteen individual plots that make up these unique restored gardens. From April 15th - 17th, in tribute to the Victorian heritage of the gardens, visitors can enjoy a special Victorian Easter.
There will be themed displays of Victorian Easter traditions in the cafe and in the lovely brick built summerhouses, which bring to life the way Victorians celebrated Easter. The emergence, at this time, of Easter eggs and Easter cards, will feature some surprising and rather odd examples. This year we are also focussing on Victorian costume; the changing features of clothing throughout the Victorian period, clothing worn for gardening, and odd facts associated with the iconic Victorian look.
Refreshments will be served in our cafe overlooking the gardens; transformed into a Victorian tearoom for Easter. There is also a large greenhouse and plant sales area.
Come down and enjoy the best of the gardens along with the volunteers and staff who will be in Victorian costume.
