Event Description

Featuring the new Ziggy garden & parkland restoration project.

An opportunity to view the stunning and normally private gardens and parkland of Alscot Park followed by lunch at The Bell, Alderminster.

Enjoy browsing the beautiful and historic gardens of Alscot Park, and take in the stunning views of the wonderfully preserved rococo gothic style house, part of the West family since 1747. See the beautiful surrounding parkland that is home to highland cattle and fallow deer. Browse through River Meadow where new trees, a variety of species, have recently been planted as part of Alscot’s Parkland Restoration Scheme. There are some magnificent old trees (approx. 450 years old) within the grounds, in particular cedar, venerable tulip and sweet chestnut.

The various garden beds including the fragrant Lavender Garden and brand new Ziggy Garden are a riot of colour in the summer. Amongst the interesting herbaceous borders you will find some wonderful sculptures on the approach to the orangery, pool and aviary areas, where delicious teas are served.

Throughout the visit guests will have the opportunity to talk to members of the team about the house and gardens, and some of these amazing points of interest.
Later guests will make their own way to The Bell, Alderminster; a popular award winning country pub and restaurant owned and run by the Estate, for a two course lunch. Steeped in history yet beautifully modernised, The Bell, awarded an AA Rosette for culinary excellence, boasts character and charm along with friendly service.
