Event Description

See Something New and Learn Something Spectacular

Rain or shine walk amongst some of the world’s most beautiful butterflies in a unique rainforest environment of tropical blossom, splashing waterfalls and fish-filled pools.

We work with Butterfly Farmers from the tropics on so that we can constantly replenish the farm with tropical butterflies. There are over 150 species coming from such far-flung places as Ecuador, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Belize, Kenya, Thailand and the Philippines! There are approximately 2’000 butterflies within the Flight Area!

Working with tropical butterfly farmers provides an income for the local community and protects the rainforests from being felled. This in turn helps create a sustainable link between conservation and livelihood. By visiting the Butterfly Farm, you are helping support these projects.

Discover the fascinating link the Farm has to the rainforests of Belize and the ancient Maya civilisation. The Maya created an incredible civilisation within the rainforest and we have them to thank for discovering chocolate.

Meet the Mini-Beast handling sessions take place daily 22nd July-3rd September. Our friendly Education Team will be inviting our visitors to hold a variety of stick insects, African land snails, and giant millipedes. There will also be opportunities to get up close to the tailless whip scorpion!
