Warwick Festival – Celebrating Guy of Warwick with new parade and Festival

Warwick attractions unite to launch new Warwick Festival

Celebrate the legend of Guy of Warwick this May Bank Holiday weekend with a packed schedule of events around the town.

From Friday 25 May through Monday 28 May 2018, visitors to Warwick can revel in a series of activities including historic tours, banquets, exhibitions, Guy of Warwick crafts, town stalls and an extra special parade all themed around the Guy of Warwick legend from Warwick Racecourse into the town on Monday 28 May.

The original spectacular Medieval building hosts a Guy of Warwick themed lavish extravaganza of food, drink and entertainment from the middle ages to kickstart the celebrations from 7pm to 12am (midnight) on Saturday 26 May 2018. Dress for the occasion in your most glamourous medieval outfit (modern day glamour works too) and meet Guy of Warwick and Lady Felice as we travel back in time. The grand feast has limited tickets available, on sale now, Cost £70 per person.

And to continue the Guy of Warwick festivities, on Sunday 26 May a Medieval Courtyard Party from 12-4pm with Medieval food, music, knights and falcons, and ferret racing. Tickets at the door for £6.50.


Market Hall Museum (heritage.warwickshire.gov.uk/museum-service/)

Celebrate our local hero Guy of Warwick at Market Hall Museum over the May Bank Holiday weekend.  View the modern influences of Guy through visual arts, browse food stalls throughout the museum on Sunday 27th May, part of the Warwick Food Festival and join us on Monday 28th May for a family ‘Make and Create’ – make a Guy of Warwick or your very own superhero mask. £1 donation to take part in the craft activity. FREE entry.


St Mary’s Church (stmaryswarwick.org.uk)

St Mary’s is looking forward to be taking part in the Warwick Festival 2018 and will be hosting a WRITING WORKSHOP to reveal the legend of Guy of Warwick, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Saturday 26th May.

You will hear the legend of Guy and Felice brought to life by Jenny Heap, local writer and poet. Then write your own story or poem or even create a picture. At 4.30pm the budding authors and artists will perform their stories and poems and meet some special visitors “Guy of Warwick & Friends”.
Tickets £3 per child (age range 5 – 13 ) accompanying grown up FREE. A perfect opportunity for the adults to take a leisurely tour of our magnificent church, steeped in the country’s history.
Have a cup of tea or coffee and homemade cake in our Pop up Café and finish the afternoon enjoying hearing the children’s tales of a daring knight!

‘GUY IN THE SKY ‘– the iconic tower of St Mary’s will also be open for the Festival. Climb the 160 steps to see amazing views over Warwick and the surrounding countryside and the places associated with Guy and other historic landmarks, participate in our quiz and earn a prize. £3 per adult, children FREE, Family ( 2 adults and up to 4 children) £6. Subject to weather conditions.


Warwick Castle (warwick-castle.co.uk)

The area’s leading attraction, Warwick Castle’s expert History Team will be delivering entertaining insights into Guy of Warwick – the legend of Guy, his quest for love of Princess Felice from the Castle and all the monsters he encountered during his travels. Tours run throughout the weekend and are included in the Castle’s ticket price.
