Be Inspired, Shakespeare and Me

Shakespeare's Birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon

This exhibition by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust tells the story of leading 18th century actor David Garrick’s Shakespeare Jubilee, which was held in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1769 — this year marks the 250 anniversary of what was the first celebration of Shakespeare anywhere in the world. Gastrell Returns to Shakespeare’s New Place

The Reverend Francis Gastrell returns to contest the verdict of visitors, who last year judged him to be a villain for knocking down New Place in 1759. Gastrell will be back to stand trial at 2pm on each of the four days.
