With less than six weeks to go until Christmas, excitement is mounting among children and adults alike!
And even if you’re not quite in the right mood yet, you soon will be as there’s a wealth of festive events taking place in towns, villages and venues around the region.
One of the local area’s annual Christmas highlights is the Warwick Victorian Evening & Christmas Lights Switch On on 24th November. Experience the centre of Warwick as it steps back in time with its steam-powered carousel ride, steam engine, fairground organs and roasted chestnuts, along with a traditional Victorian Craft market, festive food stalls and various entertainment.
The same evening sees the opening of the Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church. Featuring 30 real Christmas trees – all creatively decorated by the community, charities, schools and local businesses – the festival runs until 4th December.
24th November also sees Stratford-on-Avon host its Christmas Lights Switch On, which is preceded by community carols. After the switch on, Santa’s grotto will open in the Town Hall and is free of charge.
Christmas is celebrated through different periods at the various Shakespeare family homes, while Ragley Hall’s Christmas Events include festive lunches and guided house tours, as well as a series of Festive Cookery and Floral Decoration Classes.
Other festive events not to be missed include a weekend of Christmas fun for all the family at Kenilworth Castle, Christmas at Compton Verney, the Big Batsford Christmas Hunt, Christmas at the Races, a special Christmas Trail at the British Motor Museum and numerous family-oriented events as part of Christmas at Resorts World.
These are just a selection of the many Christmas events taking place in Shakespeare’s England over the next few weeks. Visit our What’s On pages to unwrap more.
