Batsford Arboretum & Garden Centre

Batsford is home to one of the largest private tree collections in the country with something to see throughout the year. Enjoy early colour from the snowdrops, spring-flowering bulbs, spectacular Japanese flowering cherries and stunning Davidia tree; escape the heat under the tree canopy in summer and prepare to be amazed by the outstanding autumn colour! Wander through 56 acres of wild gardens, paths and streams; marvel at stunning views across the Evenlode Valley and find our beautiful oriental-influenced statues tucked into leafy glades.

You’ll find fabulous lunches, afternoon teas and cakes all home-baked and made from locally sourced produce wherever possible. Enjoy your meal in the Garden Terrace Café where you can soak up the sun from the wooden deck before treating yourself to some retail therapy in the Applestore – an Aladdin’s Cave of shabby chic furniture and vintage finds.

Browse the beautiful walled-garden plant centre and pick up expert gardening tips – and everything you need for the garden and allotment from our knowledgeable staff. The visitor centre is also home to the Gift Shop – full to bursting with hundreds of gift ideas you won’t find on the high street.
