Enjoy a gentle bike ride along the Stratford Greenway
Take some time out during your visit to Shakespeare’s England and explore the surrounding countryside. Head to Stratford Greenway and enjoy a gentle outing along the course of an old railway line, now a dedicated traffic-free cycle-path / footpath. With no hills to climb, the Stratford Greenway starts in Stratford-upon-Avon and runs to the village of Long Marston (5 miles there, 5 miles back). It is suitable for all ages and ideal for families and independent cyclists alike. Set yourself up for the day with a snack at the Carriages Cafe at Seven Meadows Car Park on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon, and/or take a picnic stopping off at one of the numerous picnic benches on route. The Bell in nearby Alderminster is a great pub to head for and recharge your batteries after a day’s cycling.
