Travel industry experts will be passing on their knowledge to companies from across Coventry and Warwickshire to expand into international markets and grow sales.
‘Taking England to the World’ will be a one-day programme which aims to help a business become international-ready.
Shakespeare’s England, the destination management organisation for South Warwickshire and VisitEngland will be hosting the event at Coombe Abbey Hotel on Wednesday, November 13 and registration for free places is now open.
The event is going ahead as part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Festival, which is returning to the region for its third year between Monday, November 11 and Thursday, November 21.
Developed as part of the government’s £40million Discover England Fund, this course is designed to equip those who go along with the skills and foundations to develop and promote product for sale in international markets.
Helen Peters, CEO of Shakespeare’s England, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this course alongside VisitEngland to bring key information to the travel sector in the Midlands.
“The course covers all areas of the tourism industry to enable the sector to better understand how to promote themselves on an international level, so it’s perfect for anyone looking to get an insight into the global market for tourism.
“Coventry and Warwickshire has such a strong tourism offering for both international and domestic tourists so we’re looking forward to being able to spread this message to attendees.”
This training programme is aimed at suppliers from all sectors of the English travel industry – from accommodation to attractions, and from excursions to experiences. Whilst particularly suitable for SMEs, larger organisations are also welcome to attend.
Attendees will gain in depth knowledge of how to ensure their ‘product’ is travel trade ready and attractive to an international market.
Ron Terry, General Manager at Coombe Abbey Hotel, said it was important for the venue to be a part of this event.
“Being at the heart of the Coventry and Warwickshire tourism industry, we were thrilled to be able to host this event,” said Ron. “We’re also very excited to be attending and learning more about the opportunities to ‘Take Coombe to the World’.
“It looks like it is going to be extremely interesting and we would recommend those who are interested get booked on as soon as possible.”
The event will be taking place between 9am and 5pm in the High Court room at Coombe Abbey.
