Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE: See details

Coventry’s Creative Quarter has postponed some of its popular events following Government advice but is now offering a taste of FarGo Village at home.

Following the Government guidelines on Covid-19 measures, FarGo Village has postponed a number of its most popular events and closed the Village until further notice.

To support tenants at the Village and to bring a taste of the top shops to people in isolation, FarGo has created a new online shop for people to continue supporting their favourite local independent stores at home.

The Spring Makers Market, which brings together the region’s top artists and creators for visitors to purchase quirky handmade gifts and products, has now also been turned into a digital event, where shoppers can enjoy exclusive discounts and offers at the online markets on FarGo’s website from 11am on Saturday, March 28 until 4pm on Sunday, March 29.

Products from more than 30 traders will be available to buy; from ceramics, jewellery and prints to laser cutting, woodwork and blacksmithing, will all be available for shoppers to purchase from the safety of their homes across the weekend.

Events planned for April and May have been postponed following Government advice, including the Gin Festival which will now take place on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 and the Chocolate Festival, which is rescheduled to Saturday, June 13.

The popular Vegan Festival will now take place on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, 19, and the Cheese and Chutney event is postponed until Saturday, June 20, as the perfect Father’s Day celebration.

Lucy Thompstone, Events Manager at FarGo Village, said: “Following Government advice, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our popular events at FarGo for later in the year and close the Village for the foreseeable future.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors back to FarGo once it is safe to do so, but in the meantime, we are working hard to support our independent businesses in any way we can, which includes the launch of our new online shop.

“We are also looking forward to our Spring Markers Market now taking place online, as this is a great opportunity for people to shop their favourite FarGo stores, from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

“There’s some great products and discounts available on both the shop and the Makers Market so don’t miss out and keep supporting your favourite local creators!”
