The national spotlight has been shone on top Stratford food and drink businesses which have been handpicked to appear in a BBC Good Food guide.
The round-up has a wide selection of restaurants, bars and cafes and is aimed at providing readers with inspiration of the must-visit places, whatever their budget.
Helen Peters, chief executive for Shakespeare’s England, said: “One of the key aspects to the success of these restaurants and bars is their commitment to sourcing their produce locally and promoting the area in this way.
“It’s great to see that these businesses are coming together and working closely with one another which is why Stratford’s food industry continues to thrive.
“Last year more than 10 million tourists visited the region and were able to enjoy everything it has to offer from tourist attractions to restaurants and hotels so we’re glad that these wonderful businesses are receiving national recognition for their hard work.”
The One Elm has ales on tap from the award-winning Purity Brewing Company who have come together to provide visitors with locally-made products to enjoy.
The guide also features Vinology who source their products exclusively from family-run producers including Shakespeare Distillery who are set to open a new gin distillery offering tours and a gin school in April 2019.
Flair Gougoulia, owner of El Greco, added: “We were thrilled to be featured on the Good Food Guide’s best restaurants in Stratford list!
“It’s great to see that businesses who put so much effort into providing the best quality food and service are being recognised and are continuing to bring visitors to the region to try the fantastic local produce.”
These companies are members of Shakespeare’s England, the destination management organisation for South Warwickshire that works to promote the region.
Other businesses featured on the list include Michelin-starred Salt, No 9 Church Street, Box Brownie Coffee, 33 the Scullery, Barry the Butcher, The Fourteas and Paxton & Whitfield.
